Maia Golley is an experienced educator with a career spanning over two decades in various teaching roles. Currently serving as the Head Teacher at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools since August 2019, Maia has also been a Kindergarten Teacher at Namaste Charter School since August 2005. Prior experience includes teaching at Chicago Public Schools from 2003 to 2005 and working as an Assistant English Teacher for the Morioka Board of Education between 1997 and 1999. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature from Bryn Mawr College, a High School Diploma from the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, and a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership with a focus on Early Childhood from the University of Illinois Chicago.

Serving Kindergarten-8th grade students in Chicago since 2004, our groundbreaking educational model combines health, wellness, and academic rigor. Located in Chicago's McKinley Park Neighborhood, on the under-resourced southwest side, Namaste serves 480 students, the majority of whom come from low-income families and lack access to high-quality educational opportunities. At Namaste, there is no tuition or selection criteria; admission is by blind lottery.
