Eric Hansen

Software Engineering Director, Solutions Architect at NanoCellect Biomedical

Eric Hansen has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Eric started their career as a Software Engineering Contractor at Discovery Partners International in 2002, where they analyzed, designed, and developed software for a protein crystallography system. Eric also took on management responsibilities during their time there.

In 2006, Eric became the Director of Software Engineering at Nexus Biosystems. Eric led the development of a complex application for controlling a high-throughput automated sample storage system. Eric collaborated with product management and hardware engineers to create a system capable of storing a million or more sample tubes.

In 2011, Eric worked as a Software Engineering Contractor at Brooks Life Science Systems, where they provided team leadership, software architecture, and design. Eric also collaborated with customers on current and new products related to low temperature automated storage systems.

At Agena Bioscience, Eric served as the Director of Software Development from 2014 to 2017. Eric led the design and development of a clinical software platform for the MassARRAY molecular diagnostic system. Eric also managed a sustaining engineering team responsible for the software lifecycle of legacy applications.

From 2017 to 2018, Eric worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at Carterra. Eric designed and developed instrument control software modules and implemented software engineering processes.

In 2018, Eric had two short-term roles as a Software Engineering Contractor. At Brooks Life Sciences, they created a unique module for an Automated Sample Storage Freezer. At a NASDAQ listed bioscience company, they led the analysis, design, and development of software for a clinical diagnostic instrument.

Most recently, Eric has joined NanoCellect Biomedical, Inc. as a Software Engineering Manager, Architect, and Developer in 2022.

Throughout their career, Eric has demonstrated expertise in software development, project management, requirements management, and agile development. Eric has also worked closely with stakeholders, SMEs, and customers to understand and address their needs.

Eric Hansen completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, from 1983 to 1988. Prior to that, they pursued Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Davis from 1982 to 1983, though no specific degree was obtained during this time. Later, from 1992 to 1994, Eric undertook coursework towards an MBA in Business Administration and Management at Colorado State University.
