Michał Bonar has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to 2022. In 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant/Lab Technician in Dr. Moose's Maize Functional Genomics Laboratory, where they participated in maize field trials, conducted DNA and RNA sampling, extraction and purification tasks, and utilized MS Access databases, BarTender, NCBI and BioEdit tools. In 2009, they were an Intern in Entrepreneurship at Chromatin, Inc., where they helped the company reach timely milestones by assisting in plant transformations and all tissue cultural activities, and kept the daily operations smooth by keeping up to date on media inventory and preparation, chemical handling, culture maintenance, and event selection for sugar cane, maize, and sorghum. In 2010, they were the Symposium Chair at BioConnect, where they executed a successful annual biotechnology conference. Michał Bonar has a diverse educational background. Michał obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2009, majoring in Crop Science: Plant Biotechnology & Molecular Biology and Chemistry. Michał then went on to pursue a Master of Science Applied from McGill University in 2011, with a focus on Biotechnology. Finally, they obtained a Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2017, majoring in Molecular Virology. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Yoga Instructor Certification - Level I and II, Meditation Instructor, and Complying with U.S. Export Controls.
