Nate Heintzman

Nate Heintzman has a varied work experience. Nate began their career in 2007 as the Chair, Board of Directors, Vice President, and Chief Academic Advisor for Insulindependence, Inc. In 2008, they founded and became the Managing Partner of ScholarNexus Consulting Group, LLC. In 2009, they founded NanoCellect Biomedical, Inc. and became an Advisor for SweetSpot Diabetes Care, Inc. In 2010, they became the Director of Wireless Health Innovations for the San Diego Beacon Community Collaborative at UCSD Calit2. In 2011, they became an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Diego. In 2013, they became a Judge for the Nokia Sensing XCHALLENGE at XPRIZE and a Glass Explorer at Google. In 2014, they became a Visiting Scientist for Collaborative Research & User Innovation at Dexcom, as well as the Director of Data Science and the Director and Senior Manager of Data Partnerships.

Nate Heintzman earned a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College between 1997 and 2001. Nate then went on to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from UC San Diego and the University of California, San Diego - School of Medicine, which they completed in 2007.
