Richard F. Simmerman has a wealth of experience in the scientific field. Starting in 2004, they worked as a Research Technician and NSF-IGERT Predoctoral Fellow in Sustainable Technology through Advanced Interdisciplinary Research at the University of Tennessee. From 2015 to 2018, they were employed at Potomac Affinity Proteins as a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow. During this time, they iteratively engineered, produced, optimized purification of, and characterized over 300 constructs. In 2018, they became a Technical Sales Specialist in Protein Biology and Biomarker Development and Validated Assays at Thermo Fisher Scientific. In 2019, they moved to Synthego Corporation as a Senior Account Specialist and worked to enable researchers to harness the power of genome editing. Richard F. Simmerman received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee in 2015. Richard F. also holds a Master of Science (MS) in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in the same field from the same institution. Richard F. also has a Certificate of Sustainable Energy from the University of Tennessee.
