Rita Issa

Rita Issa has held a variety of roles within the scientific and medical industries. Rita began their career in 2004 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma. Following this, they worked as an Associate Research Scientist at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, Rita moved to IMMY as a Product Development Engineer and then to MESO SCALE DIAGNOSTICS, LLC. in 2014 as a Field Application Scientist. In 2017, they joined Cisbio as an Account Manager and then moved to Tech Coast Angels San Diego in 2019 as an Angel Investor and Member of Life Science and High-Tech Committees. Rita also began working at NanoCellect Biomedical, Inc. in 2019 as a Manager of Southwest US and Inside Sales and a Technical Sales Specialist. In 2022, Rita joined the Carlsbad Educational Foundation as a Board Member and Governance Committee Member.

Rita Issa completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from the Lebanese American University in 1998. Rita then went on to obtain their MS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in geotechnical from the University of Oklahoma from 1998 to 2000. Rita continued their education at the University of Oklahoma and obtained their Ph.D. in BioEngineering in 2008. In 2019, they obtained two certificates from Harvard Business School Online, one in Leading with Finance and one in Leadership Principles. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Leading without Formal Authority from LinkedIn in June 2019.
