Pedro Pereira-Almao

Pedro Pereira-Almao is a distinguished professional with extensive experience in the field of chemistry and catalysis. As the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Nanos Tech since 2016, Pedro has been instrumental in developing advanced nano-catalysts and catalytic processes for various industry applications, including heavy oil upgrading and fuel desulfurization. With a background as Co-Founder and Technology Development Specialist at Litus Inc. and as Co-Founder of Carbonova Corp., Pedro has significantly contributed to the production of sustainable carbon nanofibers. Pedro's academic tenure at the University of Calgary spanned nearly two decades as a Professor, focusing on the research and development of hydrocarbon and carbohydrate conversion processes. Prior to these roles, Pedro served as Heavy Oils Processing and Research Manager at PDVSA Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. and holds both a Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate in Chemistry-Catalysis from Université de Poitiers.
