Michael Ferguson EngTech MIMechE has worked as an EC&I Engineer for NanoSUN since 2022. Prior to that, they worked for the Royal Navy from 2015, where they held the roles of Leading Engineering Technician (Marine Engineering) and Engineering Technician (Marine Engineering).

Michael Ferguson EngTech MIMechE attended Monkseaton Community High School from 2005 to 2008. In 2013, they attended Tyne Metropolitan College. In 2014, they obtained a Level 2 Extended Certificate in Engineering (QCF) from Pearson and a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (Engineering Practices) from EAL Awards. In 2016, they completed an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Improving Operational Performance (Performing Engineering Operations) from the Federation for Industry Sector Skills and Standards (FISSS) and a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (Engineering Practices) from City & Guilds. In 2018, they obtained a Level 2 Award in F Gas and ODS Regulations: Categories 3 & 4 from City & Guilds and a Level 2 Functional Skills in ICT from City & Guilds. In 2019, they obtained a Level 4 Certificate in Leadership and Management from ILM. In 2020, they obtained a High Voltage Competent Person from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. In 2021, they obtained an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture (Engineering Maintenance) from the Federation for Industry Sector Skills and Standards (FISSS), a Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (Engineered Systems) from City & Guilds, a Queen Elizabeth Class Fire Detection Network Training Course from Tyco, and a Queen Elizabeth Class Fire Protection Network Maintainer Course from Tyco. In 2022, they obtained a Level 3 Award in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) from EAL Awards, a Level 3 Award in Industrial and Panel Wiring from EAL Awards, a Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 from City & Guilds, and a Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings from City & Guilds.
