Head Of Research And Development at Nanosurf

Bart Hoogenboom has a diverse work experience in the field of biophysics and nanotechnology. Bart is currently working as the Head of Research and Development at Nanosurf since July 2023. Prior to this, Bart held various positions at the London Center for Nanotechnology at University College London. Bart started as a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in October 2007 and then became a Reader (equivalent to Associate Professor) in October 2013. Since October 2016, they have been a Professor of Biophysics. During their time at the university, Bart also served as the Head of Biological Physics from September 2011 to September 2022. Before joining University College London, Bart worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Basel from September 2002 to September 2007. In this role, they focused on the design and engineering of miniaturized laser/fiber optics for micromechanical sensor detection and the development of new methodology for in-liquid atomic force microscopy.

Bart Hoogenboom completed their education history as follows: Bart first attended Drachtster Lyceum from 1987 to 1993. Bart then pursued a Master's degree in Physics at the University of Groningen from 1993 to 1997. After that, they obtained a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Geneva from 1998 to 2002. In 2009, they attended the London Business School for an elective on New Venture Development. Finally, in 2017 and 2018, they completed the Future Leaders Programme at University College London through RKB Coaching Consultancy.
