Michael Smith

Michael Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael began their career in 1996 as a teacher in the Napa Valley Unified School District, where they taught until 2000. From 2000 to 2004, they worked as a contractor for the Buck Institute for Education and the New Technology Foundation. In 2000, they also started teaching at New Technology High School, where they continued until 2003. In 2003, they returned to the Napa Valley Unified School District as a teacher until 2005. During this time, they also worked as an Instructional Systems Specialist for the Department of Defense Education Activity from 2005 to 2014. Michael then rejoined the Napa Valley Unified School District in 2014 as an Instructional Coach. Michael later transitioned into administrative roles, serving as an assistant principal from 2015 to 2019, and again from 2018 to 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Teacher, Social Studies at the Napa Valley Unified School District.

Michael Smith obtained a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Touro University California, which they attended from 2015 to 2016. Prior to this, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Relations from the University of California, Riverside.
