Christian Oggenfuss, DipWSET

Christian Oggenfuss, DipWSET has a wealth of experience in the wine industry. Christian began their career in 2002 as the COO of VinO AG. In 2005, they became the General Manager of V. Sattui Winery, where they were responsible for all Direct to Consumer (DTC) retail and sales operations. In 2007, they took on the role of Director of Direct Sales and Direct Marketing for both Benziger Family Winery and Imagery Estate Winery. That same year, they also founded Vintuba LLC, a site for the wine drinker who has a thirst for the journey of discovery. In 2009, they founded Oggenfuss Wine Marketing, a strategy and implementation company specializing in providing Social Media and Direct to Consumer marketing expertise. In 2010, they became the Direct Marketing Manager for Napa Luxury Brands at Treasury Wine Estates. From 2011-2018, they were the Founder and Chief Educational Officer of the Napa Valley Wine Academy, America's leading provider of WSET (Wine and Spirit Education trust) and winner of the prestigious Riedel and WSET Global Wine Educator of the Year. Christian also held the role of Director of Marketing for PlumpJack Group from 2011-2018. In 2018, they founded the Online Wine Academy.

Christian Oggenfuss has a diverse educational background. Christian obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mass Media Marketing from Denison University in 1992. In 2007, they completed a Diploma in Wine & Spirits from the WSET (Wine & Spirits Educational Trust). In 2010, they earned their Masters of Wine from the Institute of Masters of Wine. Christian has also obtained a number of certifications, including a WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wine & Spirits from the WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) in 2009, a Wine Location Specialist certification from the Center for Wine Origins in 2011, a French Wine Scholar certification from the French Wine Society in 2015, an Official Bordeaux Wine Ambassador certification from the École du Vin de Bordeaux – CIVB in 2017, an Official Bourgogne Wine Ambassador certification from the Bureau Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne – Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB) in 2018, and an Official German Wine Ambassador certification from the Deutsches Weininstitut, The German Wine Institute i.e. Wines of Germany worldwide in 2019.
