Jeanne Schultz Angel has a diverse work experience in the field of humanities and museum management. Jeanne started their career in 1996 at the St. Charles Heritage Center as a Director. Jeanne then moved on to work as an Executive Director at the Lombard Historical Society from 2006 to 2013. In 2013, they became the Executive Director of the Illinois Association of Museums until 2015. From 2015 to 2019, they held the position of Executive Director at the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association and also served as the Executive Director at The Nineteenth Century Club during the same period. In 2016, they joined Illinois Humanities as a Road Scholar. Currently, they are working at Naper Settlement, where they started as the Director of Learning Experiences in 2019 and has recently been promoted to the role of Associate Vice President in 2022.
Jeanne Schultz Angel completed their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in History, Anthropology, and English at Illinois State University from 1990 to 1996. In addition to their academic degrees, they have obtained several certifications including the Underground Railroad Network to Freedom from the National Park Service in October 2011, the Seminar for Historical Administration from AASLH, AAM, Colonial Williamsburg, and the Indiana Historical Society in November 2010, and the Historic House Museum Workshop from AASLH and the National Trust for Historic Preservation in June 2008.
