Lawrence Algee has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Lawrence is currently working at the City of Naperville as the Manager of Public Safety IT, a role they started in June 2020.
Before joining the City of Naperville, Lawrence had a long tenure with Nokia, where they held various leadership positions. Lawrence served as the Head of Program Management - LTE-A PMO from June 2016 to December 2019, overseeing the program and project management of LTE software deliveries to global customers. Prior to that, they were the Senior Director of Wireless Release Management PMO from September 2012 to June 2016, responsible for program and project deliveries across wireless R&D organizations.
Prior to their time at Nokia, Lawrence worked at Alcatel-Lucent as the Senior Manager of CDMA Project Management from 2003 to 2008. Lawrence managed a team of project management professionals and was responsible for end-to-end software and hardware deliverables in the CDMA Business Unit.
Lawrence also has experience working at Lucent Technologies, where they held senior management roles. Lawrence was the Senior Manager of Fixed Network SW Development from 2001 to 2002, leading a team responsible for developing tools and a GUI-based user environment for generating ODDs for customer offices. Lawrence also served as the Senior Manager of Next Generation Fixed Network PjM & Architecture from 1999 to 2000, managing a team of project managers and leading an Architecture Task Force.
Earlier in their career, Lawrence worked at Bell Labs Lucent Technologies as a TMGR in Advanced Services Software Development from 1997 to 1999, and at AT&T as a Member of Technical Staff from 1990 to 1997.
Lawrence Algee completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, starting in 1988 and finishing in 1990. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in Mathematics at Morehouse College from 1985 to 1990, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Subsequently, Lawrence pursued further studies and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, beginning in 1990 and finishing in 1991.
In addition to their educational background, Lawrence Algee has also obtained certifications in their professional career. In August 2018, they received the SAFE 4 Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. Furthermore, in September 2006, Lawrence obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the PMI Chicagoland Chapter.
