Michael Ocenasek

Michael Ocenasek has over 10 years of experience in various technical roles. Michael currently works as an Automation & Communication Technical Project Manager at the City of Naperville. Previously, they worked for the City of St. Charles, Illinois as a Meter & Communications Division Manager, where they were responsible for designing fiber optic installations, managing fiber system assets, and coordinating with IT managers. Prior to that, Michael worked at AT&T as a Network Operations Field Technician, installing and repairing voice, DSL, U-verse, and DirecTV systems. Michael also has experience as an IT Technical Analyst at USG, providing network support and conducting training seminars for employees. Additionally, they worked as a Data Communications Consultant at Total Network Solution Inc, providing network support for sales offices and assisting with network hardware upgrades.

Michael Ocenasek's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communication and Media Studies from Northern Illinois University. Michael attended Northern Illinois University from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Studies from the College of DuPage, where they studied from 2000 to 2003.

In addition to their formal education, Michael has also earned several certifications. Michael completed the 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health program at the OSHA Safety Training Institute in September 2022. In August 2019, they obtained a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A from the State of Illinois. Furthermore, they have obtained various fiber optic certifications from The Fiber Optic Association, Inc. (FOA) in January 2018, including CFOS/DC: Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Data Centers, CFOS/H: Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in FTTx, CFOS/L: Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Optical LANs, CFOS/S: Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Fusion Splicing, and CFOT: Certified Fiber Optic Technician. Additionally, they obtained a Flagger certification from the National Safety Council in March 2019.
