Richard Munneke has extensive work experience in local government. Richard started their career at Horizons Regional Council in 2003 as the Regulatory Manager, where they worked until 2014. In 2014, they joined Napier City Council as the Director of City Strategy, leading a team responsible for planning, creating the city's vision, and providing regulatory services. Richard later took on roles such as Acting Chief Executive Officer, Napier Recovery Manager, and currently serves as the Commercial Director of Napier City Council.
Richard Munneke attended Massey University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning.
