Elliott Atkins FBCS has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cyber security. Elliott started their career as a Network Security Team Leader at MessageLabs in 2003. Elliott then moved on to work as the Head of GovCertUK, the UK Government's Computer Emergency Response Team at GCHQ, from 2007 to 2012.
After that, they served as the Head of Cyber Intelligence at QinetiQ, where they were responsible for leading P&L in Cyber Intelligence, Incident Response, and Penetration Testing businesses. Elliott was also the head of Q-CIRT, the QinetiQ Computer Incident Response Team. Additionally, they were a keynote speaker at the CyCon 2013 conference.
Following their time at QinetiQ, Elliott joined Nominet UK as the Head of Incident Response. Elliott led the secure running of over 10,000,000 domain names and was responsible for ensuring their security.
Elliott then worked as a Special Advisor in Cyber at Deloitte from 2016 to 2018 before taking up roles at The Royal Household. At The Royal Household, they served as a Cyber Security Advisor from 2019 to 2021 and as the Interim Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) from 2021 to 2021.
In 2014, Elliott became the Managing Director of Exercise3 Limited, a UK-based business specializing in creating and running realistic cyber exercises to help businesses prepare for crisis situations.
In 2019, they also became the Director of the Cyber Capacity Unit, and in 2021, they joined Naq Cyber as a Non-Executive Director.
Additionally, they hold the position of Liaison Member at FIRST, a global organization that promotes cooperation, coordination, and information sharing among incident response teams.
Overall, Elliott Atkins FBCS has a wealth of experience and expertise in cyber security, incident response, and leadership roles, working across various organizations in the public and private sectors.
Elliott Atkins FBCS pursued their undergraduate education from 1993 to 1996 at the University of Kent. During this period, they obtained a BSc(Hons) degree in Computer Science. Furthermore, they acquired the Fellowship certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in October 2020.
