Mike Frueh

Mike Frueh serves as the Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Benefits at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a position held since April 2002, where responsibilities include leading strategic planning, risk management, and enterprise governance. Previously, Mike has occupied key roles such as Director of Benefits Assistance, Chief of Staff for the Veterans Benefits Administration, and Director of Loan Guaranty Service, focusing on veterans' housing and benefits. Additionally, Mike is a member of the Board of Directors at NASA Federal Credit Union and has extensive experience in finance and consulting from previous roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank, and Andersen Consulting. Mike holds an MBA in Finance from The George Washington University and a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Pepperdine University.
