Shabarinath S Nair is a Scientific Researcher at NASA Harvest since June 2022, focusing on scaling croptype mapping in Malawi, Ethiopia, India, and Ukraine, as well as developing use-cases within the ESA WorldCereals project and pioneering sample-free methods for crop identification. Prior to this role, Shabarinath served as AI Lead and Senior Data Scientist at CropIn Technology from March 2018 to May 2022, where responsibilities included building deep learning frameworks for crop detection and leading the Data Science team in delivering AI agri-analytics solutions. Earlier experience includes being an Earth Observation Scientist at Earth2Orbit, interning at esteemed institutions, and working as a Project Engineer at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Shabarinath holds a Master’s Degree in Aerospace from Nanyang Technological University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
