Sungmoon Choi is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in space trajectory optimization and mission design. Currently serving as a participant in the JPL Visiting Student Research Program at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Sungmoon Choi focuses on space mission design, trajectory optimization, and machine learning applications. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Iowa State University since August 2021, Sungmoon Choi has engaged in research involving multi-body dynamics and optimization utilizing machine learning techniques. Previous experience includes a notable role as Principal Investigator in the L'SPACE NASA Proposal Writing & Evaluation Experience, where Sungmoon Choi led a team to achieve a top 5 proposal ranking and gained insights into NASA mission procedures. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University, a Master's degree in Astronomy from Yonsei University, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pusan National University.
