Carmel Conaty

Carmel Conaty currently serves as the NESC Chief Engineer at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, a position held since October 2021. Prior roles at NASA Goddard include Associate Chief of the Mission Engineering and Systems Analysis Division, Branch Head of Instrument and Payload Systems Engineering, and Associate Branch Head of Instrument and Payload Systems Engineering Branch. From 2006 to 2019, Carmel held positions as Systems Engineering Education and Development Program Manager and in Informal Education. Beginning a career in engineering at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in 1988, Carmel contributed as an Engineer until 2005. Educational qualifications include Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering obtained from The Catholic University of America between 1984 and 1988.
