James Berck

James Berck currently serves as the Deputy Project Manager for the R5 CubeSat fleet at NASA, where responsibilities include leading the Flight Software Subsystem for the SPLICE project and performing real-time operations during Orion spacecraft re-entry. Prior to this, James held various roles at NASA, including Flight Software Lead and Orion Spacecraft Recovery Operator, where modeling debris footprints and conducting operations on a navy vessel were essential tasks. Early career experiences at NASA as a Pathways Co-op and Human Interface Developer Intern involved software engineering for the Exploration EMU Space Suit and designing software widgets for spacecraft. Additional experience includes developing a flight test Results Analysis Tool at GE Aviation and serving as a Resident Assistant at Kansas State University while earning a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
