Mike Surber is currently the International Space Station Chief Safety Officer and Technical Authority at NASA, a role held since 2018. They have held various positions at NASA since 2006, including Manager for Program Integration in the Commercial Crew and Cargo Program Office, and Safety Manager for the International Space Station. Surber also served as the Payload Safety Review Panel Chairman and Chief Engineer for the ISS Avionics and Software Office. They obtained a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Oklahoma State University, completing their studies in 1990.
