Benjamin Simpson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Benjamin has held the role of Chief Policy Officer at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce since April 2022, where they provide strategic guidance and manages the Policy Department staff. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of State Policy. Before joining the Chamber, Benjamin worked at the Tennessee Medical Association as the Director of Advocacy and Assistant General Counsel. Benjamin also held the position of Assistant Director of Government Relations and Assistant General Counsel at the same organization. Benjamin's earlier experience includes a role as Legislative Liaison at the State of Tennessee, where they reviewed small claims, researched and interpreted laws, and served as a Claims Examiner. Benjamin began their career as an Intern at the State of Tennessee General Assembly, where they assisted with scheduling and preparing bill summaries. Benjamin also briefly worked as an Assistant to the President at Stone Creek Surfaces, where they managed accounting and office coordination responsibilities.

Benjamin Simpson completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, with a minor in Biology and a concentration in Minor Biocellular Chemistry, at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Benjamin attended the university from 2002 to 2006. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Juris Doctor degree at the Nashville School of Law from 2008 to 2012.
