Garrett Harper has held various roles in research throughout their career. Garrett started as the Vice-President of Research at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce in 1990. In 2002, they became the Research Manager at the Mid America Institute on Poverty. In 2004, they transitioned to the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau as the Research Director until 2006.
Garrett Harper has pursued various degrees in different fields of study. Garrett holds an M.B.A. degree in Marketing from Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business. Garrett also earned an M.T.S. degree in Theology from Lipscomb University. In addition, they obtained a B.A. degree in Geography and Spanish from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). Furthermore, they obtained a J.D. degree in Law from Nashville School of Law. Garrett Harper also received a GIS certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Penn State University. Garrett further pursued their education and earned a Ph.D. degree in International Development from The University of Southern Mississippi. Lastly, they obtained an M.P.H. degree in Public Health- Planning and Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
