Annika Faucon has extensive work experience in the field of scientific and statistical genetics. Annika is currently working at Nashville Biosciences as a Scientific Project and Program Manager, where they handle partnerships with Pharma, Biotech, and Healthcare AI/ML partners by utilizing Vanderbilt University Medical Center's EMR database and DNA databank. Their role also involves building and improving analytical infrastructure to support drug discovery and diagnostics.

Prior to their current position, Annika worked at Vanderbilt University as a PHD Candidate in Statistical Genetics from 2016 to 2022. Their research focused on understanding the biological underpinnings of health and disease using electronic health record and biobank data. Annika used data science techniques and tools such as R, Bash, Python, Julia, and SQL to analyze large datasets and develop analytical tools and pipelines. Their research primarily focused on complex polygenic diseases, particularly in the field of psychiatric disease.

During their time at Vanderbilt University, Annika also worked as a Human Genetics Graduate Student. In this role, they led projects that utilized electronic health records to study chronic pain and changes in kidney function in Diabetes.

In 2016, Annika gained research experience as a Research Assistant - Summer Intern at SciLifeLab. Additionally, they worked as a Swette Research Intern at the Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology from 2014 to 2016, where they collaborated with a PhD student on developing mechanisms to improve jet fuel production.

Annika's earlier work experience includes serving as a Genetics Teaching Assistant at Arizona State University in 2014 and as a Foreign Undergraduate Admissions Assistant at Arizona State University from 2012 to 2014.

Annika began their career at Physico Health Assessments in 2007, where they were responsible for on-site health screening activities, accounting, scheduling, and client interaction. Their tenure at Physico Health Assessments lasted until 2013.

Annika Faucon attended Corona del Sol High School from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained their High School degree. Annika then enrolled at Arizona State University from 2012 to 2016, where they earned their Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Bioscience and Biotechnology, with a minor in Business. In 2013, Annika also had a study abroad experience at the University of Oslo (UiO).
