Prasanna Habaragamuwa

Prasanna Habaragamuwa has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Prasanna started their career as a Management Accountant at Pelwatte Sugar Industries PLC in 1994 and worked there until 1997. Following that, they joined Turner Stainer USA as a Finance & Admin Manager and stayed with the company until 2001.

From 2001 to 2002, Prasanna worked as a self-employed Financial Services Consultant. Then, they joined Stewarts Hardware Group PLC as the Group Financial Controller from 2002 to 2004. Subsequently, they worked at Chambers Henry - Chartered Accountants as a Manager in Corporate Finance & IT for a year.

In 2005, Prasanna became the Group Financial Controller at Fortune Group, where they stayed until 2006. Prasanna then joined Commercial Credit and Finance PLC as a Senior Manager in Finance, Strategic & Corporate Planning, working there from 2007 to 2010.

Following that, Prasanna served as the Senior Manager of Finance & Accounts at Central Finance Company PLC from 2010 to 2012. In the same year, they moved to Multi Finance PLC as the Head of Finance, but stayed for a brief period until 2012.

Currently, Prasanna is working at Nation lanka Finance PLC, where they initially held the position of Chief Financial Officer from 2012 to 2022. Prasanna recently transitioned to the role of Chief Operating Officer in May 2022.

Prasanna Habaragamuwa's education history dates back to 1984 when they attended the Hardy Institute of Technologies - East /Technical College - Kandy, where they obtained a National Certificate of Technology in Civil Engineering. Prasanna continued their education at the University of Moratuwa from 1987 to 1989, earning a National Diploma of Technology in Civil Engineering. In 1989, they enrolled in the Association of Accounting Technicians - AAT (UK) to pursue studies in Accounting and Finance. Prasanna then pursued an Associate's degree at CIMA from 1990 to 1993, specializing in Accounting and Finance. In 2004, Prasanna enrolled at the University of Southern California, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, with a focus on Finance. In 2005, they expanded their knowledge in Strategic Marketing Management by attending the CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Lastly, in 2015-2016, they joined CPA Australia to further their studies in Accounting and Finance.
