Varshini Odayar is a dedicated researcher and healthcare advocate with extensive experience in multiple organizations, focusing on mental health, healthcare disparities, and maternal health. Currently a Research Intern at the Health Equity Research Lab, Varshini leads qualitative analyses to explore mental health interventions for immigrant populations and is developing a smartphone app aimed at predicting suicidal ideation in minority youth. As a Co-Founder of Health RIGHTers, Varshini addresses the intersection of healthcare and human rights. Varshini's work extends to various roles, including serving as an Executive Board Communications Officer for Harvard CrimsonEMS and leading a non-profit organization, Sparking Lives, which supports orphans and underprivileged children. Research involvement includes evaluating biases in cancer treatment and designing innovative interventions to combat implicit bias. Varshini is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Michigan Medical School, having previously earned credentials from Harvard Medical School and Harvard University.
