Anton Middelberg FTSE FNAI currently serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research) at the University of Adelaide, a position held since July 2017, alongside the role of Executive Dean. Anton is an Elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, and holds the position of Director at Future Fuels CRC. As Editor In Chief for Elsevier since July 2010, Anton has contributed significantly to scholarly publishing. Previous roles include Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and International) and Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The University of Queensland, and Reader in Biological Engineering at the University of Cambridge. Anton's academic foundations were built at the University of Adelaide, where a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) was achieved, along with a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) (Hons 1) in Chemical Engineering. Further education includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the University of Cambridge.
