National Academy of Inventors adds Cato T. Laurencin to Board of Directors
The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) has added Cato T. Laurencin to its Board of Directors. Dr. Laurencin is a widely respected innovator, known globally for his research in biomaterials, nanotechnology, stem cell science, drug delivery systems, and regenerative engineering. "I am pleased to welcome Dr. Laurencin to our Board of Directors," said NAI president Paul Sanberg. "He brings a wealth of experience and expertise and will be a tremendous asset as we further our mission to advocate and support the inventor community." Dr. Laurencin has more than 500 published articles and patents across a range of subjects. He is President of the NAI Chapter at the University of Connecticut, where he has academic responsibilities in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science and regenerative engineering. Dr. Laurencin has also been honored at the White House with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the highest award for technological achievement in the U.S.
