Julia Luthringer is a Program Officer for Conservation at the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation and serves as an Early Career Liaison for the U.S. National Committee for the UN Ocean Decade with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Previously, Julia held various roles at the National Geographic Society, including Senior Science Manager for Oceans, where responsibilities encompassed leading funding evaluations for ocean conservation efforts and implementing DEI considerations in project funding decisions. Earlier experience includes a Congressional Affairs Analyst Fellowship at NOAA, managing the Blue Economy Challenge at Conservation X Labs, and multiple academic contributions while at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marine Sciences from Boston University and a Master's of Environmental Management from Yale University.
