Matthew Stilwell

Matthew Stilwell is an accomplished professional with a robust background in science education and research. Currently serving as an Associate Program Officer at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, Matthew engages and empowers Gulf States communities through the Gulf Research Program. As the Associate Director of Education at the Wisconsin Materials Research Science and Engineering Center, Matthew enhances public understanding of science and engineering, particularly among K-12 audiences. Prior roles include Assistant Director of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Graduate Research Assistant, where Matthew contributed to interdisciplinary research on bacterial cell division and developed innovative educational activities. Matthew's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines.
