Ulku Oktem is a recognized expert in Near-Miss management and serves as the Co-founder and CEO of Near-Miss Management since August 2011, focusing on empowering industrial operations through proactive risk management. Additionally, Ulku Oktem is a Committee Member for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, contributing to the Committee on Progress and Opportunities Toward Decreasing the Risk of Offshore Energy Operations. At The Wharton School, Ulku Oktem holds the position of Adjunct Professor and Senior Fellow at the Risk Management and Decision Processes Center, directing the Near-Miss Management Project and leading research on the Risk Management of Adverse Drug Effects. Prior experience includes a managerial role in Research and Corporate EHS at Rohm and Haas from 1981 to 1994. Ulku Oktem earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware.
