Curtis Bennett

Director Of Equity & Community Engagement at National Aquarium

Curtis Bennett has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Curtis started their career as an intern at Banfield Pet Hospital in 2006. Later, they worked as a part-time Naturalist at the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission for seven years, from 2003 to 2010. In 2013, Curtis joined Delaware Nature Society as a Teacher/Naturalist and worked there for a year. Curtis then moved on to the National Aquarium, where they held multiple roles, including Conservation Project Manager from 2014 to 2017, Director of Conservation Community Engagement from 2017 to 2019, and currently serves as the Director of Equity & Community Engagement.

Curtis Bennett obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science and Policy, with a concentration in Wildlife Ecology, from the University of Maryland. Curtis pursued further education by attending the University of Delaware, where they completed a Master's Degree in Wildlife Conservation.
