Joel Westphal, ΦΒΚ, MLIS, has extensive experience in archival and records management, currently serving as Deputy Director of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum at the National Archives and Records Administration since February 2017. In addition, Joel holds a position as an Adjunct History Professor at Grand Rapids Community College since January 2023. Previous roles include Director of Navy Archives, where Joel managed significant records and archival materials, and Acting Director of the Directives and Records Management Division for the Department of Navy. Joel Westphal has also held positions at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and United States Central Command, focusing on records management strategies and electronic record preservation. Educational qualifications include two master's degrees in Library and Information Science and History, and a bachelor's degree in History, all from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
