Richard E. Wankel, Esq. is an experienced attorney and basketball coach, currently serving as the Boys Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at Centereach High School since July 2023, following a successful middle school coaching season. As a solo practitioner and President of the LAW Office of Richard E. Wankel, PC since 2003, Richard provides personalized legal advocacy with a focus on corporate and small business formation, public housing, and affordable housing representation. In addition, Richard serves as a consultant for the Community Development Corporation of Long Island and has been a faculty member for the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials since 2013, where training and course development are key responsibilities. Richard's prior roles in housing authorities include Chairman and President of the Town of Islip Affordable Housing Corp and Executive Director of the Town of Islip Housing Authority. Richard holds a Juris Doctor from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, a BBA in Management from Dowling College, and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Business Administration from Suffolk County Community College.
