Ward Tisdale has diverse work experience spanning several industries. Ward currently works as the Regional Vice President at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC), managing legislative and regulatory affairs in the Southwestern United States. Prior to this, Tisdale founded The ATXelerator, an advocacy organization aimed at recruiting and training future-focused candidates for local offices in Austin, TX, where they trained 75 alumni in the past 3 years. Ward also served as the Executive Director of the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce and the President of the Real Estate Council of Austin. In their role at the Real Estate Council of Austin, Tisdale increased revenue by 49% and membership by 22%. Before transitioning into the advocacy sector, Tisdale worked at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), where they held various positions, including Director of Global Community Affairs and Manager of Global Product Public Relations. At AMD, they successfully managed more than 25 new product launches and received the President's Award for leading two successful launches. Tisdale began their career as a Deputy Press Secretary at the Texas Attorney General's office and worked as a Reporter for the Monitor Newspaper, covering various topics such as politics and legal affairs.

Ward Tisdale has a BA in History from The University of Texas at Austin. Ward also obtained an M.A. in Journalism from the same university.
