Bernard Devlin IV has an extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Bernard started their career as a Summer Research Intern at Longwood Gardens in 2010. Bernard then volunteered as an Environmental Education Volunteer at Tyler Arboretum from 2008 to 2012. In 2014, they joined Juniata College as a Phonathon Supervisor & Caller. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Support Staff at Fitzgerald Auto Mall and served as an Environmental Project Manager at the Town of Edmonston, Maryland through the Chesapeake Bay Conservation Corps program. Bernard also worked as a Water Resources Intern and later as a Community Engagement Coordinator at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they became the Office Administrator at Arundel Rivers Federation. Bernard then worked as a Communications & Outreach Associate at Waterkeepers Chesapeake from 2019 to 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Communications Manager at the National Audubon Society since 2022.

Bernard Devlin IV began their formal education at Penncrest High School from 2008 to 2012, where they completed their high school education. After that, they pursued higher education at Juniata College, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science from 2012 to 2016. Subsequently, Bernard enrolled in the University of Maryland, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Environmental Management. Alongside their academic pursuits, they also obtained additional certifications such as Adult CPR/First Aid/AED from the American Red Cross in February 2017 and a Grant Writing USA Workshop Certificate from Grant Writing USA, also obtained in February 2017.
