Deborah Archer

Education Manager, Audubon Vermont at National Audubon Society

Deborah Archer has extensive work experience in the field of environmental education and conservation. Deborah started their career as a Veterinary and Microbiology Intern at the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in 2007. In 2009, they worked as a Research Assistant for the Indiana Clean Lakes Program at Indiana University. From 2010 to 2013, Deborah interned at the National Council for Science and the Environment and later joined West Virginia University as a Waterthrush Field Technician, where they worked on a project studying bird population disturbances.

In 2012, Deborah gained valuable leadership experience as a Crew Leader for the Southeast Alaska Youth Corps, where they trained and supervised young people in outdoor projects. Deborah also served as an Outreach Education Specialist for Trailside Discovery Camp, AmeriCorps, and engaged in environmental education and outreach activities in Anchorage and the surrounding areas.

In 2014, Deborah worked as a Seasonal Naturalist for the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, where they provided outdoor education programs to 5th and 6th graders from Southern California. Deborah also served as a Program Manager for Trailside Discovery Camp, overseeing camps in Eagle River and Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

Since 2015, Deborah has been with the National Audubon Society, starting as a Teacher Naturalist before progressing to the role of Education Program Coordinator and currently serves as the Education Manager for Audubon Vermont.
