Senior Coordinator, Education & Volunteer Outreach at National Audubon Society

Lianne D'Arcy's work experience begins in 2018 with their role as an Environmental Communications Intern at ForestNation, where they created content for the company's blog and generated educational quizzes for their website. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Staff Writer for College Magazine, pitching, writing, and editing articles regularly and utilizing WordPress and Hootsuite in the publishing process.

In 2019, D'Arcy became an Academic Technology Consultant for the George A. Smathers Libraries, assisting users with hardware and software issues, managing class reservations, enforcing policies, and monitoring user activities.

Continuing in 2020, they participated in the Water Resources Journalism Intensive Program at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, attending and covering the UF Water Institute Symposium and producing a story based on new scientific findings from the conference. Lianne also worked as a Science Communication Intern for the UF Thompson Earth Systems Institute, developing multimedia feature stories and creating environmental content for the institute's Instagram account.

In 2020, D'Arcy served as a Civic Scholar - Climate Change Researcher for the Bob Graham Center for Public Service, conducting research for the Barometer Florida public portal, analyzing local government data, and drafting research reports.

From 2021 to 2022, D'Arcy worked for the Alachua Conservation Trust as an Outreach Coordinator, where they networked with diverse groups, developed marketing and educational materials, and organized yearly functions. Lianne also served as an Editorial Intern for the same organization, researching and writing articles for the Gazetteer newsletter and the conservation blog, producing photo and video content for social media platforms, and drafting grant proposals.

Most recently, in 2022, D'Arcy joined the National Audubon Society as a Senior Coordinator - Education and Volunteer Outreach, overseeing NYC Youth Education Programs, recruiting and training volunteers, and implementing a volunteer outreach strategy to increase participation from under-resourced communities.

Lianne D'Arcy pursued their education at the University of Florida from 2017 to 2021, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. During their studies, they also participated in the Australia Study Abroad Program in 2019, which was offered by the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications.
