Troy A. Peters has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Troy A. has worked as an Engagement Manager at the National Audubon Society since 2016. Prior to that, they were the Director of Programs at the Chicago Cultural Alliance from 2012 to 2014, where they managed multiple program streams and oversaw the development and administration of the organization's programs. From 2010 to 2012, they were a Community Outreach Program Manager at the Global Philanthropy Partnership, leading strategic planning for outreach projects and implementing capacity building efforts. Troy also worked as an ethnographer at The Field Museum in 2009, conducting research on climate action in the Bronzeville area. In 2008, they served as a Field Organizer for Obama for America, where they recruited and directed volunteers and managed a team of staffers during Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Additionally, they worked as a Program Coordinator at the University Community Service Center in 2007, coordinating community service days for University of Chicago students. Troy has also held positions as a Policy Fellow at the Campaign for America's Future, an Agroforestry Extension Agent in the U.S. Peace Corps - Niger, and a Professional Research Aide at Michigan State University. Through these roles, they have gained experience in project management, community engagement, strategic planning, and research.
Troy A. Peters obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Michigan, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Social Science, specifically Anthropology, at the University of Chicago between 2006 and 2008.
