Ernestos Panagiotou

General Manager of Transformation, Strategy & International Activities at National Bank of Greece

Mr. Ernestos Panagiotou was appointed General Manager of Transformation and Business Strategy in May 2019, having served the Group of the National Bank as a strategic advisor during the period 2006 - 2011. In September 2020 he took responsibility for the international activities of the Group.

Prior to his reinstatement in the staff of the National Bank, he held the position of Partner at the consulting company McKinsey & Company, where he worked for a total of 12 years (during the years 2001-2005 and 2012-2019). At McKinsey he has worked primarily with financial institutions in Greece, Cyprus, the USA and the Middle East on strategy, transformation and risk management.

He holds a degree in Philosophy, Political & Economics (First Class Honors) from the University of Oxford as well as a postgraduate degree in Public Administration & International Development from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
