George Triantaphyllakis

General Manager of Legal Services at National Bank of Greece

George Triantaphyllakis was appointed General Manager of Legal Services in April 2017. He was appointed Assistant General Manager of Legal Services in June 2015, with the responsibility of supervising and coordinating the activities of the Legal Services Department and its associate lawyers.

Since 2012 he has been the Director of Legal Services of the National Bank of Greece, since 2006 he has been a Member of the Legal Council of the National Bank of Greece and since 2010 a Member of the Legal Council of the Hellenic Banking Association. Since 1992 he has been a Lawyer at the Supreme Court.

During his long tenure in the Legal Services he represented the Bank before supreme and supreme Courts, Arbitration bodies and Authorities in important cases in Greece and abroad, with subjects of banking law, criminal law, European law and capital market law, European market law, .

George Triantaphyllakis is a Professor of Law at DUTH. and Professor at the National School of Judicial Officers. He was a member of the Competition Commission (for 10 years), a member of law drafting committees and scientific associations. He has published monographs, university textbooks and a series of scientific studies in private fields of commercial law and has been elected Vice President of the Board. of the Association of Greek Commercialists.

He is a graduate of the Law School of the University of Athens (Excellent) and holds a PhD in Commercial Law from the Law School of the University of Tübingen, Germany.
