Sofia Asmatoglou has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Sofia currently holds the position of Head of Group Business Regulatory Compliance & Client Conduct Division at the National Bank of Greece, starting in April 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Compliance Division at NBG Asset Management M.F.M.C. from February 2013 to March 2021. In addition, they worked as a Management Consultant at NBG Asset Management M.F.M.C. from October 2012 to February 2013. Sofia also has experience at Bank of Cyprus, where they served as the Head of Compliance Department on Investment Issues - Compliance Unit from March 2011 to September 2012. Before that, they worked at KYPROU Asset Management M.F.M.C., where they held various roles such as Internal Auditor from February 2006 to February 2011, Marketing Division from July 2003 to January 2006, and Middle Office in the Mutual Funds Management Division from January 2001 to July 2003. Sofia started their career at Bank of Cyprus in the Investment Services Department, where they worked from September 1998 to December 2000.
Sofia Asmatoglou obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in 1997. Sofia then pursued a Postgraduate Programme in Business Administration at Hellenic Management Association (EEDE) from 2000 to 2001. From 2003 to 2007, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematical Modelling in Modern Technologies and Economics from the National Technical University of Athens. In addition to their formal education, Sofia also holds various certifications related to regulatory compliance in the financial system, investment services, derivatives, and mutual funds sales.
