Jon Surman

Jon Surman is an accomplished professional in the meat industry with extensive experience across various leadership roles. Currently serving as General Manager at National Beef Packing Company LLC since September 2016, previously held the position of Assistant General Manager. At Surman Consulting from August 2016 to July 2017, Jon provided expertise on business viability in the meat industry and operational efficiency. As President of Kane Beef from August 2014 to July 2016, responsible for plant operations, Jon achieved significant cost improvements. Prior experience at Cargill included roles as Area Vice President and General Manager, overseeing large processing plants and managing thousands of employees, alongside early career positions such as Plant Engineer and Fabrication Manager. Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A&M University, earned between 1994 and 1999, and completed high school at Giddings High School, focusing on Animal Sciences.
