Chawanna Chambers

Chawanna Chambers, Ph.D., NBCT, currently serves as the Director of the Culturally Sustaining Candidate Support Network at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards since February 2023. Prior to this role, Chawanna was Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer at Compass Rose Public Schools, contributing to curriculum and assessment from July 2019 to February 2023. Chawanna has experience as an Online Adjunct Instructor at George Mason University and a Portfolio Coach at Johns Hopkins University, guiding educators in digital portfolio development. Chawanna also founded the Single Seed Enrichment School, securing significant funding for a blended learning program, and held multiple teaching and leadership positions in various educational settings, emphasizing curriculum design and teacher support. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University, among other advanced degrees and certifications.
