Gaston Illanes

Gaston Illanes is an accomplished academic in the field of economics, currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Northwestern University since July 2016. Additionally, Gaston holds a position as a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research since May 2019. Prior to these roles, Gaston was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2010 to June 2016, where Gaston also completed a Ph.D. in Economics. Gaston obtained a Master’s degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2008 and a degree in Ingeniero Comercial with a specialization in Economics from the same institution between 2003 and 2008.
