Laura Westberg

Director, Research & Evaluation at National Center for Families Learning

Laura Westberg has been a life-long advocate for children and families. As Director of Education and Evaluation Initiatives, she supports research and evaluation efforts, contributes to evidence-based publication and training, and advises for consistent organizational messaging related to research, among other responsibilities. Laura started her career as an early childhood educator and administrator in university-sponsored preschool and child care programs, employer-sponsored child care, and Head Start. Her background includes working with children with disabilities, teaching at the college level, providing statewide and national training, and leading projects with corporate, government, and private foundation funders. She has presented at state, regional, and national conferences in addition to publishing research articles, training guides, and instructional materials for early childhood practitioners. Laura served as the Director of the National Early Literacy Panel that published its research synthesis,
