Ray Durham is a legal fellow on NCYL's Justice and Equity team and the Litigation Advocacy team. Ray's work focuses on abolition of harmful fines and fees that are targeted towards system-impacted youth and their families. Ray also works to develop litigation against school districts and state actors whose harmful practices impact students with disabilities.
Ray earned his J.D. from Berkeley Law School. During his time at Berkeley, Ray was in both the Death Penalty Clinic and the Policy Advocacy Clinic. Ray was also active in students organizations. Ray was the Co-President of the Student Association at Berkeley Law, the Public Interest Chair for the Law Students of African Descent, an Articles Editor on the California Law Review, and a Solicitations and Submissions Editor on the Berkeley Journal of African-American Law and Policy. During the summers, Ray worked at the Public Defender's Office in DC and the National Center for Youth Law.
