Shefali Sonarkar

Shefali Sonarkar is a Doctoral Student and Junior Research Fellow at the National Centre for Biological Sciences since April 2023. Prior to this, Shefali completed a thesis at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, where the focus was on the Chemotaxis proteins FrzA and FrzB in Myxococcus xanthus, involving the isolation and cloning of frzB and frzA genes and purification of the respective proteins. Shefali also engaged in a research project at IISER, Pune, from January to April 2020. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences from IISER, Pune, completed in 2022, following education at Montfort School, Nagpur from 2005 to 2017.
