Megan M. Machnik

Megan M. Machnik has extensive work experience in the field of fundraising and development. Megan M. currently works as the Director of Advancement at the National Children's Museum since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Major Gifts Officer, Institutional Relations at the Smithsonian Institution from June 2019 to December 2022.

Machnik also held leadership roles at various organizations, including Chair of the Board of Directors at Keegan Theatre from June 2021 to October 2022, and Associate Director, Individual and Foundation Giving at Ford's Theatre Society from February 2016 to June 2019. In their role at Ford's Theatre Society, they were responsible for cultivating relationships with funders, managing a two-person staff, and overseeing $1.5 million in annual foundation and government giving.

Before joining Ford's Theatre Society, Machnik worked as a Development Manager at the Washington Area Women's Foundation from March 2015 to February 2016. Megan M. also served as the Executive Director of The Philadelphia Singers from April 2013 to January 2015, and as the Chorus Manager from 2012 to 2013.

In addition to their professional experience, Machnik has a background in music education. Megan M. ran their own private music teaching studio from 2007 to 2012, where they taught a diverse range of students and handled marketing, networking, lesson planning, and scheduling.

Megan M. Machnik obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Florida, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Music at Roosevelt University, attending from 2006 to 2008.
